Analysis of affecting factors on natural ventilation in aluminum electrolytic plants

Studies by simulation the natural ventilation effect in typical two-storied aluminum electrolytic plants with the operation floor above and under the ground level. As a result, the ground has a significant block effect on the air volume through the bottom inlet. When the distance between the soil wall and outer wall of plant is about 1 metre, the total air volume can be reduced by about 45%, and when the distance is 3 metres,the air volume reduction is much smaller and about 9%, and when the distance is enlarged to 35 metres, the influence can be neglected.
